Red: As a member of Dominic Preston’s private security team, Red’s duty is to keep high profile individuals safe from harm. Her bio-enhancements grant her increased strength and agility. As a young girl she has always dreamed of fast money, adventure, and excitement. Even though Red has a front row seat to that lifestyle, a series of tragedies has left her with an increasing sense of despair. Nevertheless, she still manages to maintain her razor sharp wit along with a no nonsense attitude.

Dominic Preston: As the former head of counterterrorism for the government’s Homestead Protection Division, Dominic trained agents employing state of the art technology. In addition, his team of research scientists developed a way to increase a human’s agility and strength by using the latest in genetic manipulation. However, the government refused to let him go forth with his experiments. This led him to resign his position and start his own mid-sized private security firm entitled Preston Security.

After the death of Phillip Canis (head of the Canis Corporation) at the hands of the terrorist group called the Lords of the Fourth Order, Dominic’s agency was contacted by the Canis Corporpation to provide around-the-clock protection. Soon after, Dominic managed to cajole Canis to pull their strings with the government into allowing him to go through with his genetic experiments. Dominic’s experiments proved to be a success. His employee, Red, was one of the original subjects. Pleased with the results, Canis recently decided to offer Dominic an enormous sum of money to purchase the company, make him the head, expand it’s budget, and rebrand the company as Canis Private Security. He agreed.

Reginald Canis: Head of the Canis Corporation, Reginald is a young man who inherited the position from his late father. Canis is a megacorporation that among it’s many market acquisitions, is the largest manufacturer of pharmaceuticals worldwide. In sharp contrast to his father, Reginald is loud, brash, and flaunts his extravagant lifestyle. He has big plans for the company now that he’s in the driver’s seat.

Killian West: A stone-cold, former Major in the military who was in charge of the head of Phillip Canis’ personal security. After his team failed to protect Phillip from the extremist group, The Lords of the Fourth Order, his duties were transferred over to Dominic Preston. Nevertheless, he is kept on the payroll in a somewhat diminished role by Phillip’s son, Reginald, who has grown to value Killian’s wisdom over the years.

Zen Domino:: He is the mysterious leader of the domestic terrorist group called The Lords of the Fourth Order. Claiming his anger with the government’s expanded overseas militarism and economic disparity at home, Zen Domino has aligned himself with the country’s enemies overseas, in order to strike fear in the heart of society. His group of followers are usually unemployed, disenfranchised, and of a low level IQ. The Lords of the Fourth Order displays many cult-like characteristics. The members are required to have a similar appearance and are kept under control by their addiction to narcotics.

Their philosophy is that the current system’s “four orders” of behavior is that of birth, school, work, death and that they are the agents (or lords) of the fourth order. Zen Domino is wanted by authorities for masterminding several bombings, including a recent bio-chemical attack. These attacks have created a panic atmosphere. Their effect has resulted in crackdowns on nearly any activity the government can claim is dangerous to national security. His location remains unknown.

Savoir Faire:: He is a reporter who previously made a name for himself in the entertainment news & now works for the prestigious Blitz News Network. Savoir’s news program, Loud and in Your Face, is one of the most popular mainstream news programs in the country. A popular segment of his show teams him with with former Army Sergeant Nathan McGillicutty who (is now a Pastor) as he gives his right wing perspective as Savoir gives his left leaning point of view. While they both may squabble on many topics, they usually agree that during these troubled times it’s the government that has our best interests at heart.

Adam: He’s a self-imposed exile from society with a grudge against the Canis Corporation. Adam and his band of followers live in a decrepit area known as The Woods.

Jack: Adam’s son. Unlike his angtsy father, Jack is a determined & idealistic young man. He envisions a society that is free from the clutches of a corrupt government system that acts as the strongarm for their partners in big business. As an investigative journalist working in the alternative media, he disdains what he considers the no-substance approach of a reporter like Savoir Faire. He feels Faire is willing participant in the corporatist system. Jack’s vow is to make the population aware of the increasing level of state run propaganda and militarization which threatens their very existence. His current investigation is on the recent string of terrorist attacks.

Elise Mayweather: Red’s grandmother who raised Red. Years ago, Elise converted her family home into a local day care center in which she and Red both helped maintain, until a series of unfortunate events took place.
